Hacienda Zuleta is a stunning and historic luxury country inn situated on a 4,000-acre working farm. Once the private home of Ecuador’s most colorful president, the hacienda sits in the heart of a breathtaking valley, and features 14 beautifully decorated rooms and 7 spacious junior suites. Guests are treated to a serene atmosphere, lush gardens, and rich cultural experiences along with delicious home-cooked Ecuadorian cuisine. All meals are prepared with organic ingredients produced within the hacienda’s grounds.

Activities

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to explore Zuleta’s extensive estate by taking part in a variety of activities including hikes and garden strolls, as well as tours of the Hacienda’s historic buildings, embroidery workshop, and traditional dairy. The Hacienda also offers guests the opportunity to take part in mountain biking, horseback riding, embroidery classes, and cooking classes for an additional cost.  

Wildlife

The Hacienda is home to a variety wildlife, including the Andean condor and giant hummingbird. Guests may even catch a glimpse of a Spectacled Bear, South America’s only bear species. For an up-close look at one of the world’s largest flying birds, be sure to make a visit to Condor Huasi Project, Hacienda Zuleta’s celebrated Andean condor rehabilitation program.

Extension Itinerary

Hacienda Zuleta may be added as an extension to any Galapagos cruise

Day 1: Private transfer from the airport to Hacienda Zuleta for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Explore the miles of trails around Zuleta by horseback, mountain bike, or foot. Visit the women's community embroidery project and the Condor Huasi Project. Tour the working farm and learn about cheese making at the dairy, or fishing at the trout farm. Or relax by one of the fire places with a glass of wine.

Day 3: Spend the morning at Hacienda Zuleta. After lunch, visit Otavalo town en route to Quito airport for either overnight or your flight home.
